More about the Robert S. Crane, Jr. Endowment for Community Trusteeship Fund at The Columbus Foundation
This fund was established in 1995 by the Crane family for Leadership Columbus and honors the late Robert S. Crane, Jr. A Columbus resident since 1925, Mr. Crane spent his career with Crane Plastics Company, where he served as chairman of the board for 29 years. He was a dedicated philanthropist who generously shared his time and interest with numerous central Ohio organizations. He served as chairman of the boards of United Way of Franklin County, the Columbus Foundation, Franklin University, and First Community Church, and as a trustee of Battelle Memorial Institute. This fund supports scholarships for Leadership Columbus, a nonprofit organization that fosters leadership and trusteeship through both broadened recognition of community issues and volunteerism in community organizations. Established in 1974, Leadership Columbus’s alumni includes members of the Crane family and employees of Crane Plastics Company.
